There is 12 inches in a foot. If we divide 70 by 12 we'll get the feet. The remainder will be the inches. We can put 12 into 70 five times. This means that there is 5 feet. Since the remainder is 10 the inches part is 10.

The stack of books is 5ft and 10 inches high.
