How much does NATO cost? Who pays for it?

The total budget approved for 2001 amounts to approximately EURO 746 million 1, including some EURO 51 million dedicated to PSO's but NATO consists of a bunch of countries who each have a different budget for military. There really isn't a cost to run it because the members run their own programs and NATO is more of a set of guidelines for operations.
