if we subtract the equations we can eliminate the 2 6y's
subtractiong the second from the first:-

10x = 44
x = 4.4
now plug x = 44 into the first equation:-
4*4.4 + 6y = 62
6y = 62 - 4*4.4 =  44.4
y = 44.4/6 = 7.4

the answer is the order pair (4.4,7.4)
