To calculate percent change....  First work out the difference (increase) between the two numbers you are comparing. Then divide the increase by the original number and multiply the answer by 100.

(if your answer is a negative number then that is a percentage decrease.)

The formula for percent change:

((y2 - y1) / y1)*100 = your percentage change.

Problem work:

y1 =16
y2 = 44.2

( 44.2-16/16) x 100

(1.7625) x 100

So the percent increase (percent change) will be 176.25%

hope this helps!
