(I hope this is what you need, if not well. The more you know, lol) Most French in North America were traders, not farmers like the English. The French generally did not destroy Indian hunting grounds by clearing forests for farms. Also, many French trappers married Native American women and adapted their ways. (I looked it up in a social studies/history book.)
