When I experience static electricity, I felt like I was zapped for a few moments. Static electricity seemed to be like when two components or things bump into each other and this situation will then cause the shock. The shock is made by the imbalance of electric charges and until you do something like take your hand away or get zapped from the person/thing you were zapped by the electric charges will stay there.
