2. The light travels through the open pupil

3. Light hits the lens, then reflects onto the retina.

4. The retina processes the image upside-down and passes it to the optic nerve.

5. The image signal passes down the optic nerve to the visual cortex where your brain processes the image, creating it into upright images that we can see.
