What are the coordinates of the vertex of the function f(x) =x^2-12x+5

f(x) = x² - 12x + 5

Completing the square,

f(x) = (x - 6)² - 36 + 5

f(x) = (x - 6)² - 31

Clearly the vertex is x=6, y=f(6)=-31

Answer: (6, -31)
