If acceleration is uniform then

distance = ( average velocity ) × time

              = ( (initial velocity +final velocity )/2 ) × time

              = (( 1.5 + 1.0) /2 ) × 18.4

              = ( 2.5/2 ) × 18.4

              = 1.25× 18.4

              =  23 m
