The author influences the reader by evoking emotion in them.

Certain things an author does can make the reader feel attatched to a character. When this happens, the reader feels more emotions towards the book.

The writer can influence in many way. in as such, in a persuasive writing about planting trees, the writer can influence the reader in such cases to think about nature and the importance of protecting and planting more trees
